Through Telepathy, I Heard Her Horse Say What Her Tears Already Knew
The Horse Who Waited for Her
Paula thought her riding days were behind her.
Years of wear and tear on her body—particularly her hips—had taken their toll. Riding, which had once been her escape and her joy, was now paired with increasing pain. Her doctor urged her to stop. Her adult son pleaded with her to give it up. The idea of saying goodbye to horses broke her heart… but her body was crying out for relief.
Then one day, something unexpected happened.
A white mare with wise, soft eyes walked quietly into her life—and changed everything.
An Instant Soul Connection
She wasn’t looking for a soulmate that day. She wasn’t even looking for a horse.
But when Paula and the mare locked eyes, something incredible happened. It was as if their souls reached out and said, “There you are.”
That mare was Sheena.
From the moment Paula climbed onto Sheena’s back, she felt an overwhelming sense of comfort and peace. “I will keep you safe.” Sheena whispered through telepathic animal communication. And Paula believed her. Their connection was instant, and just what Paula needed. Even though Paula was concerned about her own body's ability to stay active and ride, she allowed her heart to fall in love.
Sheena wasn’t just another horse. She was the horse Paula had been waiting for her whole life.
Years of Trust, Growth, and Grace
They spent many beautiful years together—enjoying quiet rides, and strengthening their bond.
As time passed, Paula’s hips began to hurt more. Eventually, she needed surgery to replace one of them. This became a new chapter in their relationship—not riding, but connecting on the ground.
Sheena instinctively knew Paula was fragile and in recovery. She never misstepped. She moved with care and grace around her human. Their connection deepened in the stillness. The bond wasn’t just about riding—it was about mutual respect and love.
Eventually, the second hip needed replacing, and Paula was told that riding again wouldn’t be safe for her new joints.
The Agony of Letting Go
With a heavy heart, Paula wrestled with what to do.
She didn’t want Sheena to sit in a stall unused or grow bored without rides or activities. After months of agonizing soul-searching, she made the painful decision to rehome Sheena.
A lovely farm 1,000 miles away was selected. It offered the promise of a good life: green pastures and a new role as a teacher for adult riding students. Paula wanted to be sure it was the right place so she went to visit the farm so she could sleep at night.
But Paula didn’t just send her beloved mare away with a trailer and hope for the best.
When Animal Communication Bridges the Gap
That’s where I came in.
Paula hired me, a professional animal communicator, to talk to Sheena—to let her know she had done nothing wrong, that Paula’s decision wasn’t about love lost or bad behavior but about her own physical limitations. Sheena and I used telepathic communication to understand one another. She showed me pictures of the new place, so I could describe it to Sheena in detail. Paula wanted Sheena to understand that this wasn’t abandonment. It was a hard choice made from a place of love.
I explained to Sheena what her new home would be like, and that her new job would be giving riding lessons to kind adult students. Sheena felt sad. She loved Paula deeply. But she accepted the change with grace.
I checked in with Sheena after the move, and she was settling in well.
A Love That Never Left
Paula went on to have her second hip replaced. Her recovery was successful, but something never felt quite right.
Years passed, but Paula couldn’t shake the unease she felt when she received updates about Sheena’s life. Something in her heart kept whispering, “She’s not okay.”
Finally, Paula contacted me again—with surprising and joyful news.
She was bringing Sheena home.
The Soulful Reunion
When I told Sheena the news, her spirit lifted immediately.
She hadn’t liked a few of the instructors at the facility. They pushed her beyond her aging body’s limits and didn’t listen to her quiet communication. She had longed for the gentle safety of Paula’s presence.
And now, she would have it again. The Universe works its magic, once again!
Their reunion was beautiful it was like the separation of years didn't happen. They enjoyed quiet rides together until arthritis set in with Sheena.
A Labor of Love in Her Final Years
Every day, Paula showed up for Sheena with devotion. She made sure Sheena had all the comforts of a well-loved horse. She cleaned her stall, managed numerous supplements, and ensured Sheena’s needs were met.
She invested in Sheena’s comfort with bodywork, massage, chiropractic care, red light therapy, and all the healing modalities she could find. Even as Paula dealt with her own arthritis and aging body, she never hesitated to do what it took to keep Sheena comfortable. It was a labor of love.
It was clear to me that Sheena understood. She knew how much Paula loved her. And she loved her right back—with all her heart.
Saying Goodbye
Recently, I learned that Sheena had passed on.
The news was heartbreaking. She had been deeply loved and cared for until the very end.
The toll is real—grieving a horse, tending to their needs as they age, and deciding when to say goodbye. These are some of the hardest things we ever do as animal care takers.
And Paula—though heartbroken, was grateful. Thankful for every moment. Every nuzzle. Every silent conversation they shared.
But through it all, one thing remains certain: the love between a woman and her horse can transcend time, distance, and even death.
And through the gift of animal communication, we get to listen—between heartbeats, beyond words—and hear what their souls have been saying all along.
When Our Animals Age and Leave Us
If you’ve ever loved and lost an animal, you understand the ache. Watching them grow older is beautiful… and devastating. Their faces soften, their pace slows, and yet their presence becomes even more profound.
They teach us how to live and how to love.
And when they leave, we’re never quite the same.
This story isn’t just about Paula and Sheena—it’s about the courage it takes to love an animal through every season: from youth to aging (theirs and ours), from letting go to welcoming them home again, and finally… saying goodbye.
To all of you who are walking that road now—caring for an elderly pet, facing tough decisions, or grieving a beloved soul—I feel you.
I honor your love. And I hope this story reminds you that even across distance, even through aging and death, love never leaves us.
